This battery is a complete loss when you are using a PSP-3000. We have two PSP-3000 units in our family and neither of them are able to successfully recharge this battery under normal working conditions. Additionally, neither of the PSP-3000 units could properly show the battery information (e.g. charge status, hours left, percent left, etc).
If you own a PSP-3000 avoid this battery at all costs! [...] It works like a champ as it recharges without any hassles and always displays battery information that makes sense. If you need extra battery power our suggestion is to (A) consider a battery grip (they are fantastic) and/or (B) the Sony extended battery.
This battery may very well work with a PSP-2000 and PSP-Slim, but we couldn’t get it to work with either of our PSP-3000 units.
Oh, this battery is a slim battery and fits nicely in the battery compartment with the original battery cover! The Sony extended battery does need a larger battery cover, but this new cover really feels excellent in my hand and can act as a handle allowing me to hold the PSP-3000 level in one hand.
